Yes! Sea Star Counseling has immediate openings for counseling and consultation services.
The sea star serves as a powerful symbol of growth, healing, and transformation. Known for its ability to regenerate, the sea star embodies the courage to heal and reminds us that renewal is always possible.
Much like the therapeutic process, sea stars move slowly and intentionally, adapting as they move about their environment, becoming stronger as they go.
The name Sea Star Counseling was also inspired by The Starfish Story, originally titled The Star Thrower by Loren Eiseley. The story goes as follows:
One morning, a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a young boy picking up starfish and gently throwing them back into the ocean. As he approached, he asked, "Why are you doing this?"
The boy replied, "The tide is going out, and if I don’t throw them back, they will die."
The man looked around and saw thousands of starfish scattered along the shore. He shook his head and said, "There are too many. You can’t possibly make a difference."
The boy picked up another starfish, tossed it into the waves, and smiled. "It made a difference to that one."
The old man looked at the boy and thought about what he had said and done. The old man leaned over, picked up a starfish, and joined the boy in throwing them back into the water.
